Shared Storage

Summary

Various units within the College of Art and Design utilize shared file storage on CoAD-maintained servers. CoAD IT currently maintains the following servers used for this purpose:

• desn-designsrv2.lsu.edu
• desn-knox.lsu.edu

All content stored on these servers is backed-up daily using Tivoli Storage Manager.

Connecting to Shared Storage

Windows 7/10

1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu. File:Explorer.png
2. Select This PC from the left pane. Then, on the Computer tab, select Map network drive. File:Mapdrive.png
3. In the Drive list, select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)
4. In the Folder box, type the path of the server in the format \\servername\sharename. To connect every time you log on to your PC, select the Reconnect at sign-in check box. File:Drivepath.png
5. Select Finish.
